Mayank Agarwal joins elite list with maiden double ton

Mayank Agarwal on Thursday became the fourth Indian batsman to convert his maiden century into a double hundred. Playing his fifth Test match, Mayank played a superb knock of 215 in the first innings of the first Test between India and South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Stadium.

The 28-year-old is now the fourth Indian batsman after Karun Nair, Vinod Kambli and Dilip Sardesai to convert their maiden Test tons into a double century. Nair had scored 303, his first Test century against England in 2016, Kambli had scored 224 against England in 1993 and Sardesai had scored 200* against New Zealand in 1965.
