M’rashtra Governor’s approach constitutional: Experts

The Governor of Maharashtra has adopted the constitutional path to negate horse-trading in run-up to the government formation in the state, say Constitution experts.

Governor B.S. Koshyari has declined to accept Shiv Sena’s request for a two-day extension for submitting the letters of support for government formation.

A delegation of Shiv Sena met the Governor and expressed willingness to form the government. However, Sena could not furnish the requisite letters of support, and instead sought an extension of the deadline. The Governor through a statement expressed the inability to give a further extension.
